The Work

aviation imageFor those people looking to take their customer service skills off the ground a career in Cabin Crew could be the job for you.

Cabin Crew work as part of a team and are responsible for attending to the safety, needs and comfort of passengers.

The work involves informing passengers of safety procedures, assisting and directing passengers in emergencies, selling duty free goods, serving drinks and meals and being a friendly face with answers to passenger queries.

Successful applicants will need to have a high level of customer service skills. These include:

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum age is 18 years old
  • Academic requirement are a minimum of 2 GCSE's at Grade C or above preferably in English and Maths
  • All applicants must satisfy current Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) health requirements
  • Cabin Crew need to be between the height of 5'2 and reach up to the height of 6'2 in stocking feet. Weight must be of such proportion that the ability to perform all job functions is not hindered.
  • The ability to, whilst facing forward, walk and fit comfortably down the aisle fit quickly through the overwing window exit, and to fit into a jump harness without modification including closure without a seat belt extension.
  • Complete and successfully pass a comprehensive medical
  • Have a high standard of physical fitness
  • Good communicators
  • Knowledge of a foreign language is useful
  • Hold a valid EU passport allowing unrestricted world wide travel and the right to live and work within the EU with no time restrictions
  • Maths assessment
  • Team work exercises
  • You will need to pass a full and strict criminal record check

Training

Training lasts 3 to 6 weeks at a training school. Specific training includes:
  • Fire and decompression
  • Some medical training
  • Health and hygiene
  • Sales
  • Emergency and evacuation procedures
  • First aid
  • Customer service
After completion of your training you will receive your 'wings'
